INSIDE THE FIRE poem

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 2

Inside the Fire

I want to lay
upon the sun
and feel its warmth
toast my feet

no longer a need
to trod on
the coolness
of earth below

to bathe to delight
inside fire
and redemption.

Once I had such
a vision
an illumination
within my bones

now left behind
in ashes
memories in orbit.

'now left behind
in ashes
memories in orbit.'

This is really atmospheric. Though short, it's really effective and the last lines are a spit'n'polish finish. Well done!

Nathan.

Thank you, Nathan. I find myself trying out new avenues of expression, and they are fulfilling. Take care. Richard
