Trees petition Nature in artful display dressed among strokes of landscape green, cliffs presented in sheaths of gray, afternoon clouds crowding a skylight blue, stream’s surface reflecting diamond-glints aside the highway and Rocky Mountains ebb and flow like a tidal wave of mist surrounding an asphalt path, words unable to escape, the awe of verbiage caught in our throats, heralded by the strut of bighorn sheep; our holiday a feast, as tourists we inhale sights and sounds, cameras recording.

Reads more like a passage of thick prose than a poem. I Think the structure is a bit odd as it doesn't flow verywell, rather it feels bunched together.
This is easily fixed; what I loved was the vivid descriptions and sense of place embedded throughout.Zit tells a message without being preachy or sappy about the touchy subject. Well done!

Fab imagery, really took me there!
However, I am afraid I agree with 'mikepyro' about the structure,
