Spending Time

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 2

A long time ago meant
hands in pocket

shirt flapping open
at the cool air
tattered trousers and
worn sneakers.

.50 to blow on
hockey cards
a Bobby Orr picture
may be the prize
to-day

neat thoughts
include the wad of
double-bubble about
to be chewed.

like a blast from the past, a gem of a poem and the last stanza is my favourite.

Wow, Maggie. You are surely quick to comment. Thank you so much. Lately, I am on a roll and the muse is taking flight through my memories, almost like a skateboarder unable to halt, AND certainly enjoying the view. Richard LP
