My heart is a ray of sunshine
rising above all troubles, providing
comfort for those snared by
loneliness, or discouragement.
I am anxious to burst forth, as food
and shelter for youth seeking
truths and a belonging. Perhaps
I can add to their strengths
my paintbrush may erase
woes, colouring over failures
a salve for inner selves.
I am a flame of hope for the young
my song, a red brilliance within
a promise of morning sun
love and understanding as my
weapons of peace.
