When Chaos Rules

I am desperate to
disappear.

Badge-driven cops
burn traffickers

stage a revolution
in bureaucracy

looking for another
victim to ticket.

Yet in the midst
of chaos

I surrender to
their will.

They calm me
nurture my safety

no longer havoc
upon the stillness

of my mind.
