Pillow

I did not sleep last night
without you next to me,
my head on the pillow
I stayed awake
a single pillow in my double bed
single pillow longing for a second head.

alarm came and went

I am tired today

when I blink
I blink for too long
somebody asks if I am okay

I am fine.

I won't be tomorrow
if I do not sleep tonight
so rest your head on my pillow
