It's a tough title to accept
to let the world know
that many of your seeming highs
were bereft of golden balance,
to confess to yourself
that your many alibis
are a pack of rotten lies
and you've been guilty all along...
of addiction
Yet I hope to find redemption
in frank, whole-hearted acceptance
to find revived health for my body
and sanity for my mind,
and to find grace in the resolve to,
if given life and time,
to someday be of aid to others
of the same affliction
