shade of grey depression

It's like a dark and guilty secret,
a reality
you can't really share...

because when you do,
people get upset
and search and search
for simple answers,

and it just isn't like that.

It would be easier
if my life were totally bleak
without bright spots
(or if I were just a spoiled complainer)

It's the shade of grey
that's hard...
when you KNOW you want to go on
but it's hard
and it's going to be hard,

and that's just the way
it is
