Reflections

from the ABC set You're O.K, I'm not O.K

I wanted you to define me, find me
plunge the depths I never knew,
you only dabbled in the shallows
afraid of the inky pool.

I waited for you to affirm me, confirm me
worth the effort of digging so hard,
you barely scratched the trodden down surface
allowing the weeds to grow.

you were supposed to decipher the code
fill in the blanks, turn the key,
peel back my ego, interpret my dreams
make some kind of sense of me.

smoke and mirrors, were all that you found
and I'm sorry, you didn't find me,
what you saw, a reflection in my mirrored sunglasses
was a polarized image of you.

I really enjoyed this Shoe. I love the images you use throughout. The first stanza is my favourite.

Hi, thanks Julie, personally I find them quite disconserting on other people, but like to hide behind them myself,
