Welcome unfurls at my feet
licks my toes enticingly
step into the unseen deep
ever promises to keep

Offer is withdrawn from me
leaves me stranded in this scene
up on high there comes a scream
bitter solace on the wing

Poignant tale
This reminds me of a young girl (a day tripper) who sadly drowned on the beach near where I live.
