Words

from the ABC set They don't mean to, but they do

How few words you've written
in the space below the verse,
your wishes are polite, succinct,
duly sent, second class.

Inside the melting blood stains seep
into this lake, froze decades since
winter sighs, resumes her grip
no solstice sun can warm this deep.

A repeated pattern, a tired refrain
words have failed me, us, I pray
"I don't know what to say", you said
killing me again.

I'll write a few words below this particular verse if I may, shoe. As ever you have conveyed so much raw emotion in a few words, the way it makes me feel inside makes me hope that empathy and imagination are your inspiration, the fact such feelings may actually be inside you makes me want to give you a hug xx

Clever and I don't know what else to say, other than I like it and I never know what to expect, when I open one of yours Shoe but - so far - I haven't been disappointed. ;)

new shoe
yes, we can all do with hugs,
