Baby Suits Blue

from the ABC set Silver Spun Sand Poems

How to describe
what it's like
to swim
with jewelfish
in the azure
of her eyes?

Would I could
depict the swish
of rye-grass
as her lashes
stutter-sweep
the concave curve
of her cheek...

her velvet breasts,
with sweat –
glistening
as raindrops
on a lily, blessed
by a summer shower.

Her neck –
slender, stretching...
an egret rising
from Ponderosa Pine
to a lone clarinet...

her body
a cacophony
of concertos
and symphonies
with the gentle seduction
of a skylark as it trills
as it climbs.

Sex with her
is a cloud
of blue butterflies
rising through a field
of Kansas sunflowers.
