Once More with Feeling

from the ABC set Silver Spun Sand Poems

We make love
with the lights off...
for a change.
After twenty years
one runs out
of variations
on a theme...by
Paganini,
Rachmaninov
or whomsoever.

So tonight, he’s
Brad Pitt and I’m
Kylie Minogue;
tongue touching
tongue...that zing
still, simultaneously
we feel. “Lay, lady, lay,”
croons Bob Dylan,
in the background...

In our two-roomed
less than penthouse
suite above Chinese
chat and chow –
smells of Chop Suey,
we take a shower; the air
charged with L’Amour
perfumed gel.

Eyes closed –
fumble for our cosy,
towelling robes
from the hook
on the bathroom door;
warm already
in the knowing
exactly where they are.

Very emotive and beautiful which a touch of sadness in the end stanza in my opinion. I really enjoyed.

Well done on a well-deserved cherry, dear Tina! I love the tenderness in this and also the edge of humour. A wonderful read as always ;)

Thanks, Magic.

Your maturity as a writer shines through the interpretation of this poem, which I did think would have a limited appeal. You have proved me wrong, and I am glad you did;-)

Hope the week goes well. Thinking of you;-)
