“and the damp” she added
as the queue shuffled forward.
The young bus driver hurried her
“come on missus, we haven’t got all day”.
“You wait ‘til you’re my age” she warned
“you won’t be in such a hurry then”.
And taking her seat she announced
“Me legs have never been the same
can’t really bend them much these days
on account of me spatulas”
