Spring

from the ABC set Miscellany

It's spring,
And the poets eyes alight
With resurgent passions
As thoughts flow
With the sudden rains.
It's spring.
And the nascent sun
Warms the lattice branches of his heart
Lifting the reticence of winter.
It's spring,
And as the earth comes alive
With a new day
A new leaf unfurling,
The poet writes again
Of youthful lust
And seasons lost
To heroic acts of love.

Nice try - it's darn difficult to be original about Spring - but then why do our thoughts always turn to frolicking at this time? Don't worry - I know - but it is amazing that the change of the season can have such an effect on the national libido!

It is very hard to be original about Spring...I tried too. Love 'The nascent sun
Warms the lattice branches of his heart'
Lovely line.

Thanks - I found it incredibly difficult and don't think I've strayed far from the trite or obvious, but perversley I enjoyed the challenge.

Is concerned about the lack of men currently springing in her direction over the age of 19 and under the age of 45...
