If you see a badly beaten, broken heart,
with the remnants of a threadbare sleeve attached;
don’t call for help and don’t resuscitate,
’tis too damaged and too many times been patched
Feel free to kick around this piteous pump,
that no longer has the will, to stand and fight.
And if hopes and dreams, should scatter all about,
just brush them to the gutter, it’s alright!
It may be hard to see it now but once,
this vessel was a bright and vibrant thing,
that sailed on future’s ocean wondrously
on kindly winds of fate, that had no sting.
But fate, can be a fiend as well a friend;
to fill one’s sails or leave them lank and slack.
thus, allowing that one voyage, that you made,
to be your last and never let you back.
T’was this poor wretch, did try to sail once more
and Love, the destination, to regain
but found, that though love did, no doubt, exist,
’twas an island, under jealousy’s cruel reign.
So now it lies surrendered; in defeat.
and the best that you can do to play a part,
is to walk on by and try to just ignore…
should you see my badly beaten, broken heart.

it's always worth the hassle 3leaf!!
two typos in the last stanza: to play a part, to walk on by
