Clerical Abuse

from the ABC set shamrock's ramblings

Lift your frocks, ride out your sinful fantasies;
for absolution is on call.
Tomorrow, gather and on bended knees,
chant Mea Culpa, I did fall.

Thanks Shirley. For years religion was used as an excuse for war, which in itself was abominable but to use it for the purpose of child abuse, was even more sickening and has shamed a nation.

I refer the honourable member to "Behind the vestry door", though your poem is much more to the point. Wish I had the confidence of "less is more", as so admirably exhibited by your good self.

Chris, really enjoyed this one, mate. Your economy is astounding.

I think your statement that it has "shamed a nation" should read "shamed the world" as it appears where ever they are found, so too exists the shame.

Hi Khelder, read your piece (see comment). In my opinion priests should be allowed to marry; going up against nature is never a good idea. Stricter vetting must be applied too. These episodes have done more than just destroy the lives of the young people involved I fear.
