We sat by the river
Watching the daisies
Chasing the flow
The current lapping them up
A skylark spied on us
“They are holding hands”
He sang to the world
His song was beautiful
And so were you
We held hands so gently
Tenderly touching
Innocently
And yet you blushed, as did I
I loved you completely
With a passion expressed
In a coiling of fingers;
A darkening of freckles
It was enough

Perfection is this.
Well done.

Coming from you tamara - having discovered your poetry and at the risk of sounding patronising - means a hell of lot; maybe I've arrived ;)
