Green Envy

I heard a whisper through the wind,
Freight train among the clouds.
Green envy laced across the sky,
It's too late to be frightened now.
She's swirling angrily, not a care in the world,
Wreaking havoc wherever she stays.
A power far beyond controlling,
How will I act if she comes my way?
A low rumble, soon to be a roar,
There's no way to get out of her path.
To and fro she whirls and glides,
Throwing everything in her way aside.
Enormous strength is hidden in the wind,
Silence touches the ground, where will she touch down?
The freight train passes over my head,
Shaking my soul with the noise it makes.
Today was my day to be lucky,
She passed me over without a glance.
The sky is lightened where she once blew in,
The rain gently flows in her place.
For now the whisper is silent,
On darker days she will arrive again.
Green envy will come on a whim,
Next time, will I be so lucky again?
