as the envelope of spring
sealed
with absent thorned joy,
hearts unsynchronised
and recessed into
lonliness upon the route of silk.
a murky sadness stained the air
as her voice spun threadbare.
amber fell from the trees
entwining the silver tears
with which she ornamented
the rectangular, glass box.
perchance he would remember
and understand its mystic
symbolism.
