July and I
By the unfolding head

A summer love
that creeps up on me every year
heavy rain
golden mood
stirring
When the last few quiet drops
have settled
and the low grey cushions pout
above the house
I feel young as
pink
orange
hues
glaze the room
like a special tint
only reserved for
the creation
of this feeling
Gentle smoke curls
from finger tips
candles flicker
as albums spin
and secrets pass out
between lips
Memories swirl
in a murky puddle
melancholy arrives
to give me a cuddle
but no tears tonight
no regret
Make a hot tea
send longing glances
down the sheet
tremors
of what lies ahead
thoughts that stretch
beyond
the horizon of my bed
and
the muggy air
of
a grey July day
holds me
once more

Really love the short-line

Really love the short-line structure here, the unfolding head. You've used some really unique and intricate imagery too. Well done!
