1st Verse:
I read my horoscope today.
It said good luck would come my way.
It said Venus and Mercury
had lots of luck in store for me.
I wonder why the stars don’t know
that magic, star-like inner glow
that shines inside me every day
since you brought your bright love my way.
Now I don’t need luck
‘cause I have got you.
All my wildest dreams
are already true.
Chorus:
Fortune smiled on me
and she looked a lot like you.
Now it is hard to hold
a pessimistic view.
Since it’s my destiny
to have your hand in mine.
I know the rest of my
life can only be fine.
2nd Verse:
I heard the weatherman today
and he predicted skies of grey;
said “find shelter to sit under;
there’ll be lightning and thunder”.
But I wonder whether he knows
That, whether it thunders or snows,
I’ve got perpetual blue skies
and sunshine right here in your eyes.
Now, whether its grey
or whether its blue,
the weathers okay
‘cause I have got you.
Chorus:
Fortune smiled on me
and she looked a lot like you.
Now it is hard to hold
a pessimistic view.
Since it’s my destiny
to have your hand in mine.
I know the rest of my
life can only be fine.

Hi well-wisher,
this sang to me a bit like a folky song and I loved
the lyrics, yes very nice piece this.
Jenny.

Thanks, Jenny. I just really wanted to write some feel good pop lyrics because there are many upbeat
popular songs about love that I like.
I'm trying to steer away from writing songs that are too wordy and too much like poems and yet I'm also trying to write songs that are not brainless and its not an easy balance to get right.
I'm also trying to write songs where every single line is easily understandable. I've always preferred
the Cole Porter school of songwriting to the Bob Dylan kind.
