I was sitting, sipping coco
on the upper Orinoco
as the setting sun was sinking in the sky
when I spied a pretty porpoise,
who was pink, pop to the surface
and that propinquitous porpoise winked its eye.

I really like this... Bit like a limerick, but not...
Very inventive alliteration, and also internal rhyming (sinking, pink, propinquitous, winked).
What does propinquitous mean anyway?

Thanks alot Archie. Glad you liked it.
Propinquitous is a fancy way of saying 'nearby'.

Hi JoHn.
Such a beautiful poem of such a beautiful creature.
I never realised until now that you can see a pink
Porpoise, so I've learnt something new today.
Jenny.

Thanks, Jenny.
When I first saw the Pink Dolphin I was sure it was a hoax and was truly amazed when I discovered it was real but then greatly saddened when I also discovered that it was an endangered species.
That's why I wanted to let more people know about it.
It would be terribly sad if something so bright ceased to exist.
I'm also convinced that if more people knew about the existence of Pink Dolphins they would be saved.
Who doesn't like Pink Dolphins? They look like something out of a children's fairy tale.
Glad you liked my poem.
