This is good. Being a songwriter myself, I know how hard it is to fit sensible, poetic lyrics to music. I‘d love to hear it with music.

Thanks, EpheLuwe. Unfortunately, though I write lyrics, I can play no more than a few chords upon the guitar and can't sing for toffee.

Hi John just thought I would put a little comment here. Do you ever listen to Donovan? I think he is terrific and his lyrics are right on top. He is my all time favourite. It's just that a lot of your writing reminds me of his lyrics. The imagination and fairytale quality. Maybe not exactly this one but the other things you write.

I do like Dononvan, particularly the song "Wear Your Love Like Heaven" which I think is one of the all time 'feelgood' pop songs.
I am convinced that optimism and romanticism
will make a comeback in some or other form and
then we'll see another cultural renaissance
like the 60's where people, like Donovan, will once again make things that are well-crafted, timeless, beautiful and elegant.

I saved my allowance and bought Mellow Yellow album way back in the late 60's and I remember Wear your love like Heaven was a double album and I couldn't afford it so I listened to the neighbours sample.
I like your optimistic approach. I hope you are right- would be really nice to have a more beautiful and peaceful world- a renaissance..of sorts..just with the good spirit of our present times..and lots of happy young people not too much stress and some quiet politicians.. Haha
