Wake Up, Sleeping Beauty! (Lyrics) (IP)

from the ABC set Lyrics

1st Verse:

Pretty little planet pirouetting out in space;
I have come to plant this cosmic kiss upon your face.
Can’t you sense your own immense beatitude and grace?
Come out of your coma, see there’s so much to embrace.

Chorus:

Wake up, sleeping beauty!
Rise and shine!
Immanence is in you.
You’re divine.

Wake up, sleeping beauty!
See those signs?
Evidence that heaven’s
yours and mine.

2nd Verse:

Economic theories fail but fairy tales all tell
that osculations among nations,
they should break the spell.
Inside that part, the human heart
is where the answer dwells;
then, wings unfurled, the reborn world
should shatter from its shell.

Chorus:

Wake up, sleeping beauty!
Rise and shine!
Immanence is in you.
You’re divine.

Wake up, sleeping beauty!
See those signs?
Evidence that heaven’s
yours and mine.

I love this but can't think of anyone extant who could perform it...
unless Johnny Depp can sing ;O)

Thanks, Mangone.

I've always been a fan of Gilbert and Sullivan and songs like "I am the very model of a modern major general" and I like to put some alliteration and internal rhymes in my songs and poems when I think it's appropriate.

Outside of Edward Scissorhands, I'm not a major fan of Johnny Depp.

I’m more of a fan of Gilbert O Sullivan but I have long admired the lyrical skill of Gilbert.

I was thinking Depp because it’s all down to look nowadays and he is the past master of finding the perfect look...
Mind you you’d better roll your sleeves up because I don’t think he’d go for anything less than a complete musical :O)

I wish you well.
