Workers of the hive, rejoice!

from the ABC set The Earthlove Collection

Workers of the hive, rejoice;
Let us sing with one great voice;
May our precious golden hive
Ever prosper and survive.

There is no time to relax,
Housebees build your combs of wax,
Feed the brood and clean the cells,
Seal up the hive cracks aswell.

Workers of the hive, rejoice!
Let us sing with one great voice;
Joyous children of our queen,
Parts in a golden machine.

When we’re older we’ll go out,
We’ll be free to buzz about,
Working as hive collectors
Of pollen and sweet nectar.

Workers of the hive rejoice!
Let us sing with one great voice;
Every worker, queen and drone
Helps our hive to carry on.

I really like this John, it reminded me of a kind of
tribute to the Bees.

Thanks for sharing.

Jenny.

How less dread inspiring would North Korea be if all the soldiers and paralysed civilians chortled this each morning; then Russia then Syria - this peom as a song could enlighten the more 'burdened' nations of the world.

Thankyou, Jenny.

This is the kind of song that I imagine Bees would sing. I tried to give an accurate description of what goes on inside a Honey Bee hive/apiary. I've always thought that Bees were amazing creatures and so this is very much a tribute to them.

I always quite liked the Soviet Anthem. It's got a great tune. This version is by Paul Robeson:

When I think of Bees, though, I usually think of a small happy community like a Hutterite settlement in Canada.
