Story, Poem and Inspiration Point of the Week

Good evening everyone,

That I've said this before doesn't make it any less true, the number and quality of the submissions that have been posted this week has once again been amazing.  That's wonderful and long may it continue but it makes the weeky responsibility of picking the two stand-out poem and prose pieces very very difficult indeed.  But decisions have to be made so here we go...

This week's winning poem is from new member mackatoof for their first ever post Autumn Wasp:

This week's prose winner can be described as many things but 'newbie' isn't one of them.

Parson Thru has related many of his envy-inducing Spanish adventures via his travelogues, not least the rendering of his journey along the camino (pilgrims trail) to Santiago de Compostela.  But this short piece is about his efforts to gain his Spanish language teaching qualification.  Read it and feel his pain (and elation) in The View From Here:

So on to this week's inspiration point.

Prose or poetry inspired by Indian summer.

Use it in its conventional meaning or not.  You might just use 'Indian', or just use 'summer'.  Or maybe you might spin it round and use 'summer Indian'.

Whatever you decide to produce we'll look forward, as always, to reading.

Have an enjoyable weekend.

Peter.
