R ~ The Socratic Partisans
By Jack Cade
- 1106 reads
I was born in the year of the pig
I was born and buried alive
beneath the blubberous doctrine
and the ruins of civilization
Barefoot and simply clothed
When they came across the borders
I did not surrender my body
I fell about laughing and joined
The Socratic partisans. Have you heard of them?
They will break the boarded windows
and crack the man-shaped vase
heaven there is shelter
in the swirl of our arms
Try it
Yes, so I learnt to compromise with blubber
I am a Socratic partisan
If you want a scapegoat ask for us
We're trained up eels - slippery and ugly
We like a little 'lock
when we're up on the rock
Yes, we like a Russian coffee on the rocks
Try it, try it, try it
The underground resistance
manifests itself as jigolos
We are figure skaters who steal hearts
When hearts go by, heads will turn
Our revolution is ongoing, eternal
and discrete
Try it, try it, try it
Try it, try it, try it
