Did you ever stop to think
about your life?
About the ground on which you stood?
Did you look beyond the clouds
amazed by the sun?
Contemplate its heat upon your skin?
Did you gaze across the sea
as I do now?
Far beyond the endless rolling waves?
And if you did
Did the absurdity of what you saw
penetrate your thoughts?
Did you ever wonder?

Enjoyed.

Now I'm really worried that what I said, came out wrong. It's just a personal thing - I don't know what the 'poetic rule book' says on the subject, but here, I did like the questions - is what I was trying (badly) to say, and think your poem works well because of them.
However, I agree about a cardinal sin - (or two) before breakfast, but never on a full stomach!!!
