I wrote this poem when you wern't looking,
so I could imagine it would mean more.
I think of someone who loves me
scaling my house for my breath
on the windows.
Attempt to lift it with their fingertips,
then place it in a jar and keep
it on their bedside table.
Close but not touching.
Or document it in the list of people
who changed their life.
Proof of a living dream.

Lovely, all of this.
"...Close but not touching..."

This is wonderful Beeme,
I had this image of a lover scaling a wall to
their lovers room, lifting the window, climbing
in and with a jar, catching the breath of a loved
one, to keep on their bedside table.
Great read.

Stunning, Beeme - that opening stanza is a delight! Brilliant stuff, all three of your last poems have been more than worthy of the cherries they've picked up, really well done I've loved them all :)
