Competition Entry

from the ABC set The Winter Moon

Minds Eye

Never think that part of me sits
still
in a red dress
waiting on a park bench
with the hour's nagging chill
on goosebumped shoulders
although it does
like E bloody Rigby
wrapped in perfume though
I'll have you know
not a cardi

Never think that I've swallowed
a blue diamond
a howl of loss, a seapray sparkle,
and a tweak of a tear
all the passion we had
the magic of colour and light
the whole prism
crushed into indigestible carbon
its sharp facets sticking it behind my ribs
where it never lets go
It will be found in the fossil of my monkey bones

No, see me in my red velvet coat
hem sweeping the ground
booted and piratical
bounding up grey stone steps
copper hair flying
See me from the back

Yes, I second that, long time no read. I've missed your pieces.
