Why I Fear Words

I have a fear of words;
I fall in love too fast.
The page is too enticing
And the magic likes to last.

I have a fear of reading,
Of setting foot inside
A world where all can happen-
One of prejudice and pride.

I have a fear of laughing,
Like the characters within
Or loving what I read about-
What I can never win.

But most of all I am afraid
Of how the page does turn,
Too soon the story's over,
Yet there's still so much to learn.

But words will always find me,
And so I have resolved;
A life without a story
Is a life never evolved.

I like this especially the last two stanzas. There is one line in the 4th stanza that kind of trips me up though;
'Of how the page does turn,'
What do you think of;
'Of how the pages turn,'
It doesn't spoil the rhythm and just sits easier on the tongue; just a thought, feel free to completely ignore it ;).
Well done!

Chris ;)
