Joybugs

In others opinion
my life may seem boring.
Things happen.
Or I let things happen
that make me happy.

There are bubbles inside me.
I am infected.
I have caught the Joybug.

When seemingly trifling events occur,
I am happy.

Joybugs infest my day
from the moment I awake
until I go to sleep at night.

When I wake in the morning,
even if it is before the cock crows,
I look forward to
my plans for the day.

When I lay my head on the pillow at night
I look forward to
getting a good nights sleep.

Seemingly trifling events.

It fills my whole body with joybugs.

Watch out! They are contagious.

Highhat,
This is a great little poem, it actually describes the
way I feel everyday. Getting pleasure out of the simple things is what keeps me going. Whether it's
cleaning, I play my favourite music, or shopping, I
still get excited. The mundane things can always be
made more interesting. You summmed it up very well.
Jenny.

Thank you Jenny- yes the simple life ;)

By the way Jenny, it's so nice to know that you feel the same way about "seemingly trifling events "- do you think it is an age thing ? May well be so ? ;)

Hi Pia,
I think it may have something to do with age, but I
also think it's a state of mind. I always try to be
positive. On saying that, one job I am never positive
about and I absolutely detest, is cleaning the toilet,
Yuk! hate it.

Highhat | September 11, 2010 - 07:52

Sometimes life drags along but mostly it is exciting in my little world. Don't like cleaning the toilet much either ! But it has to be done
pia ;)

Yes pia,
Don't you think that time goes much faster now? It
seems to me sometimes, like I get up in the morning
to achieve so much, then I go to bed and think, where
has the day gone, then when tomorrow comes, I have
other things to do and still haven't done everything
I should have the day before, if you get my drift.
Just been finishing off my Indian story this
morning, can you believe, it took me three hours, but
now it's finished, well the third instalment anyway.
Some people seem to be able to write something down
so quick, but me I have to go over and over, before I
am sure it's right. It's because my brain doesn't
work very fast. Oh well.
Jenny.

Highhat | September 11, 2010 - 14:24

It's a good thing to be thorough. I'm sure your brain works very well otherwise you wouldn't be able to sit for 3 hours doing your story!I usually go over my work again and again until I think it is near perfect but it never seems quite perfect anyway but that is why it is really rewarding getting comments- don't you think?
Yes I do think time goes faster even though I do have a lot of spare time and sometimes just don't know how to use it ! But days pass very quickly- before I know it it is time to go to bed and yet another day is waiting to be conquered ;)
cheers

I think we are allowed to slow down when we are close to 60. I allow myself to stay a lot at home and though my older sister says her children like an active Mum I think my son is glad that I am at home when he calls by! I love being at home ;)
