It’s Gordian
and I’ll drop it into the chasm;
hear the echo
and feel the relief
of disposing of it.
It couldn’t have been
un-knotted by will power
and effort.
Well, not even
by delving deep into the
pent-up emotions
and the changing moods.
Now I’ll just take on the swagger
of a life of ease;
forgetting the fears
and remorse.
Not to mention the anger.
They’re dead and gone,
so maybe I should leave them be!
Forgive and forget!
It’s not that easy
after all these years
and not being able to
tell about the knot,
being well out of hearing distance,
washed out to sea.
I still care.
Now it is important
to stay alive.
It means more than before.
It has become so vital
for tomorrow
I may be gone too .

Another impassioned write, Pia, and the imagery of the Gordian knot, more than effective.

Loved this Pia, so much thought given to hope and
the knot symbolism being thrown into the chasm, the
relief like a weight being lifted.
Makes me think of floating clouds that just relax
and float on by. Hope I don't sound to airy fairy.
Anyway I liked this alot.
Jenny.

Alexander had the right idea, but I liked the dropping action better than slicing it through with a sword.

a truly fine piece of work. I have to say I had to research what the Gordian knot was. and now I know, I'll use the metaphor myself. I particularly liked the last four lines:-
Now it is important
to stay alive.
It means more than before.
It has become so vital
for tomorrow
I may be gone too .
there is a subtle touch of fear here, and hope, tom live each day as if it was your last. So, despite the relief felt at the beginning, so I am left with a rich mixture of feelings... nicely done that.
I had a picture of you dropping a ring down a well... the knot being obviously a double metaphor; which is why I see such a fine tapestry here... I hope my own reply to it didn't leave you feeling embarrassed... it was not meant to. Hugs for the new year.

and this is a personal one for you.
Oh those mistletoe wishes.
Above its lightly scented echo,
gives a rush of blood to my head.
I feel my breath quickening
As our lips just barely touch...
To then discreetly pass...
leaving in my heart
A half enacted secret desire,
That slowly plumps,
and then, like a whispered ghost,
slides delicately past.

I have never been kissed under mistletoe before I thought I'd snatch one ;0) Happy new Year Pia.
