navel-gazing

I’m taking 10 minutes off
from heaven and hell and the
perpetual stains of mankind
to watch, gaze, stare
at the silver -glistening path of this garden
slug
trailing its memories behind
in search of blackberry leaves
A new future
leaving war and tears for us humans
to realize we don’t need
to feed off
only 10 minutes
to let the sun reflect in the silvery slime
thoughts gazing at a pace
a child would not wonder about
or even doubt
for 10 minutes all animosity
is pacified
all love sacrificed
suspended in a void
heaven and hell are
dubious entities
Nought exists
but the sparkling tracks
between goldenrod and blackberry bush

Sent shivers down the back of my neck, Pia...in the nicest possible way. Wonderful this, and those last three lines - icing on the cake;-)

A beautiful nature study, Pia. I think we should all take ten minutes like this from time to time!

I love all the descriptions in this piece Pia, but
like shoe, couldn't really pick out a favourite bit,
the piece as a whole is brilliant.
