The only gale force
is emotion.
No wind is blowing
in these rooms.
Emptiness surrounds the
quiet being
of solitude.
Inspiration point:
words and
works
of lovers,
comrades.
Amplified by time and
memory.
Revealing
truths of the
malignant prospects as
daily news.
Wuthering souls with no
sensibility. A
gentle stanza
called faith,
repeated time after time,
hiding beneath the
covers of soft denial.
Trying to sing about
tenderness,
false tones tugging at the
branches of consciousness.
Surrendering to the
pearly, tear-stained maelstrom of
violence
on a
daily basis

Hi Pia,
I love those first three stanzas, I find them very
personal, especially the first stanza, as there is
a gale force wind blowing outside and I'm alone
while reading this. I find this poem very stirring,
whipping up different emotions.
You have such a gift, for words, like:-
Wuthering souls with no
sensibility. A
gentle stanza
called faith,
repeated time after time,
Yet another brilliant piece from you Pia and much enjoyed. Thankyou.
Jenny.

And your words certainly reached me, Pia. Much to think about in this one.
I like the way you have structured the poem and this stanza, in particular, stands out for me:-
"Amplified by time and
memory.
Revealing
truths of the
malignant prospects as
daily news."

Simply stunning, Pia. A very 'Zen' poem - love these lines:
'Inspiration point:
words and
works
of lovers,
comrades.'

:-) as a poet, should we mirror the world or offer up a prism. Nice piece Pia. atb lena xx
animan | March 31, 2011 - 18:22
Both - to mirror the world is to offer up a prism. Surely? I like the way that this poem punctures its own balloon, halfway, and yet doesn't because it knows that in feeling non-feeling it is feeling feeling - feeling without object, perhaps, but the subject feels if only a feeling of not being felt, perhaps?
Highhat | March 31, 2011 - 19:36
Lena- I think that we should offer up a prism- I hope this piece shows that a bit- you need the different angles and pictures a prism makes by looking through it, don't you think? I suppose if you mirror the world you can create it with images- but that is a sort of prism, isn't it? Oh well what do I know?
thanks a lot for reading and commenting .

Well Animan- seems as though you felt something along the lines of feeling. hehe
thanks for reading and feeling.

Sensational piece of writing Pia, the emotions and the way you describe them in this poem are deep.
Loved this stanza
"hiding beneath the
covers of soft denial.
Trying to sing about
tenderness,
false tones tugging at the
branches of consciousness"
I think everyone can relate to one line for this poem.

Hej Highhat. Hvordan har de det?
A late reply to this sad tale you tell.
"...violence on a daily basis..."
I hope not.

At the risk of repeating all the above - nice. I'm with Jenny, especially on 'Wuthering souls with no sensibility'. A neatly poised complex.
