Old Pesky escaped from the most secure room
By whacking the Doc on the head with a broom
Security attempted to shoot Mr Wabbit
But missed by a mile so shouted, “Let’s grab it”
Hopping for freedom through corridors and halls
He bounced over fences, barbed wire and walls
Only when caught in the guards searching lights
Did he notice the ladders climbing his tights
Furious at ruining his cunning disguise
He wiped the mascara that blackened his eyes
Took out the socks that he’d used for his breasts
But kept on the dress that he’d always liked best
Once clear of the bloodhounds so hot on his scent
He stopped by a stream where a penny he spent
Rejuvenated and high on elation
A route was planned to the local bus station
He hopped on a Greyhound and said, “Take me home”
The greyhound barked back, “Dude, you’re in the wrong poem”
One apology later Pesky ran for the train
They were all cancelled so his run was in vain
He thought his luck changed when a passing taxi
Noticed him sitting alone on his jacksy
A ride was offered to the nearest sea port
But then soon suggested some hot bunny sport
Pesky sensed trouble was far from over
But lo and behold the cab was a Rover
And true to form as they drove out of town
That British-made classic broke itself down
The police arrived and nabbed our escapist
Saving his butt from a cwazed wabbit wapist
Then once in the van his sixth sense prickled
When the sergeant stripped demanding a tickle
Now Cool Hand Pesky is back in his cell
Plotting another escape from this hell
Having cleared more hurdles than Sally Gunnell
He now plans to burrow a pesky wee tunnel

Not sure why Pesky, but it reminded me of Woody Allen’s almost escape from prison using a boot polish blackened gun he’d carved from soap… if only it hadn’t rained.
Now if Pesky had used the mascara
to cover the handle of his broom
He'd have a nice iron bar with which
He could threaten those in the room,
A quick cartoon kiss with the mad Dr Fudd
would comfuse one and all and Pesky could
get through the hole in the wall and run to the wood.
So then he's ready to tunnel free
and return to jail in time for tea.

Boing...Boing...Boing! Just hopped in to say a quick thank you, Richard. Watching X Factor recorded earlier.
Mangone, I hope you don't want to engage in another battle of rhyme. You know what happened that fateful last time.
For although no lives were lost, so many hours were wasted.
And when time to count the cost, defeat was sourly tasted.
Right, I'm off again. Adverts are finished. Boing...Boing...Boing!

Julie, You have rhymed every second line in that comment above: it-it, you-to. You must be a natural.

oldpesky | October 9, 2011 - 15:58
Hi Julie, Cool Hand Luke started on the west end the day I travelled back to Scotland. I might plan a wee trip to see it before it ends.
Mangone, you will never get me alive, I hope. Gulp!
Andrea, pleased to make your acquaintance.
Celticman, if I post too many of these and neglect my story writing feel free to give me a bit of a row.

Nice one OPesk.
"...But kept on the dress that he’d always liked best..."
Glad you got rid of the mascara, but just don't walk along side the Leven shouting " Let's grab it"
oldpesky | October 9, 2011 - 20:25
Geoffrey, watch out for that cwazed wabbit-wapist. He's on the loose in a Rover.
Julie, loved the great escape film, especially Steve McQeen motorbike scene.
Scozen, I wouldn't walk along side the Leven these days for fear of being mistaken for a tourist. Might need that mascara after all.

Hello oldpesky,
As you can see I'm working my way gradually through your work and so far I've loved it all.
Another great read. Might stop now though keep hitting wrong keys.

Mangone, you never fail to amaze me with the links you find on the internet. Sometimes I think you are Google in disguise.
Denzella, good to see you again so soon.
Julie, I never did make it down to see Marc Warren in Cool Hand Luke but I've started to watch Mad Dogs on catch-up.
Hope you're all well.
