Basking among the trees
troubled heart at rest
the woods are the flavour
of God’s gift
and a spiritual journey
unmasks
His thoughts.
I met such a man
who knew no bounds
sharing with others
forgiving sin
healing the sick
and renewing failed spirits
yes, He did such favours.
His name is Jesus.

I really like this poem. Nice and short to get the point across. It's very well written, and I particularly enjoyed the opening lines. Initially, the title doesn't seem fitting for the poem, but in hindsight it is satisfying to make the connection.
Nicely done!
Stephen.

Thank you so much, Steve. Your comments are kind. This was a difficult poem to write, and I hoped to tie in a Father-Son relationship with each highlighting a strength to share. Cheers, Richard LP

Hello Richard,
I too liked this poem but forgive me I don't understand the first two lines but I would like to.

Hello Moya, and thank you for your insight. I too was a little unsure of my opening lines. I wish to convey how the Father creates an environment of comfort, vs the Son who does so with His involvement with people. And I welcome any and all recommendations for improvement to my work. How about if I add two lines as displayed. Any other suggestions? The best for you, from Richard LP
