Tired wings seek rest
from long journey’s flight
silhouettes in idle formation,
a landscape upon horizon’s calm.
Feathery leaders
aiming at a vacant field
now waves descending
in orderly swoops, unfolding
as a feathery waterfall.
Canada’s distant from
Hudson Bay shore, vagabonds
looking for a home
an army of wings
honking noisily on the fly.

A beautiful song Richard - your poems always remind me of when I first read Robert Frost. :-)

Thank you FB, what an honour to be compared to Robert Frost. I really enjoy reading his work. Richard LP

And you too, Julie. Thank you for your kind comments. Nature writing is very precious to me, and I also find it calming. Both Esther and I are fine, we continue our daily walk, hand in hand, our 36 years of marriage still a honeymoon. Really. Richard LP
