I thought I had lost you.
I thought that you were gone.
I thought wrong.
I looked at you that night
Through drunken eyes,
When morning came
I still looked at you the same.
You offered me a helping hand
And sweetly soothed my sorrows,
You wouldn’t kiss me
Because you knew,
But now I really do want to kiss you too.
I thought I had lost you.
I thought that you were gone.
I thought wrong.
Now I want you,
I want you to be happy
And I cannot offer you that yet,
But hope that you do not lose me
As I once lost you.
Because you always make me smile,
And always know what to say and do,
And always want the best for me,
And I want the same for you too,
And I wish that I could tell you
And I wish that you just knew
That these feelings never stopped.
I thought I had lost you.
I thought that you were gone.
I thought wrong.

Hi samhennig,
what wonderful sentiments in this poem, of loving
someone no matter what.
Very much enjoyed.
Jenny.

Very moving and perhaps more of a song lyric than a poem
