Pink and White

It is dark by now,
The curtains are closed,
The bunk set in the middle of the room.

The wallpaper is pink and white vertical stripes.

I lay on the bottom bunk
and can hear the frantic scrubbing of teeth,
The door creeps open,
She is trying not to wake me,
So i close my eyes.
I feel the bed shake slightly as she clambers up the ladder next to my feet.
A small night light illuminates the pink and white,
And my eyes are too tired to see anything else.

'Psst'...'Hey!' I whisper
'I thought you were asleep?' she whispers back,
'I am!'
An obvious lie,
And it makes us giggle.

Then there is silence,
But it does not seem long until we are woken,

You are home,

It is still dark,

The door creeps open,
Our necks grow tense.

Very sad if I have read it right - the first part seems effortlessly described and the whole poem is really good. :-)
