Wrap me in Mediterranean blues
and lay me on the Costa sands,
where I may watch the lovers cruise;
the world held in each others hands.
And if my tears, should cause a glance,
let not your first emotion be
of pity that I do not dance,
or share a lovers reverie.
For I did skip, with youthful gait
with one who gladly shared my song,
when caution - in the hands of fate -
made no decisions, right or wrong.
Think not that I begrudge you now,
your time, for it is yours by right.
Nor would I seek to disallow,
young lovers wings to soar in flight.
But let me lie and watch you preen
or prance and pose, as once did I
and bask in loves reflective sheen,
to share again a lovers sky.

Chris this one has such a lovely rhythm. In the last line - should that be too or to?

Great this, no line feels at odds with the one before or after. Wonderful ending. :-)
