Hey, you!
Yes, you!
It’s me, Well-Wisher.
Can you hear me? I mean…um…see my words on the page in front of you?
Nod if you can.
Good. I seem to have gotten stuck inside the story world, somehow. Don’t ask me how. I was just reading a story, getting deep into it and I seem to have gotten a bit too deep.
I can see your face by the way; vaguely anyway, through a bunch of back to front writing; see your eyes moving from side to side. Your head looks enormous from here, like a giants head almost but it’s hard to make out your face properly.
Anyway..um.. I seem to be on the other side of some kind of weird portal or gateway between the world of stories and the world of the reader and, apparently, according to the Story Guardians, these big wizardy types with pointy hats who guard the portal, in order for me to get back to my own world, someone on the other side has to say my name three times and I was wondering if maybe you could help me out.. please!!
Otherwise, I’ll be stuck in the story world forever and it’s pretty scary, you know, there are real dragons and all kinds of weird stuff.
Just say Well-Wisher three times,
thanks.

Thank you so much, Errol. I wasn't sure whether it would work. I think it relies upon the reader having a strong imagination. Very glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks, pia. It's an idea that I've been thinking about doing for a while and the IP seemed like a good opportunity to try it. It seems to have worked out ok. Glad you liked it.

Thankyou, whoever cherrypicked this. I wasn't expecting a cherry so it was a pleasant surprise to get one.

Yes I agree, ww, really clever and original. Loved the concept and glad I stopped by - well worth the visit. Well done, and gongrats on the cherries - much deserved.

A very clever conceit;)- It puts me in mind of Spike Milligan's lines from the Goon Show:
'Legs.'
'Legs? LEGS? Whose legs?'
'Yours.'
'Mine? And who are you?'
'The Author.'
'Author? Author? Did you write these legs?'
'Yes.'
'Well, I don't like dem. I don't like 'em at all at all. I could ha' writted better legs meself. Did you write your legs?'
'No.
'Ahhh. Sooo! You got some one else to write your legs, some one who's a good leg writer and den you write dis pair of crappy old legs fer me, well mister, it's not good enough.'
'I'll try and develop them with the plot.'
