I'm a 29-year-old aspiring writer living in Carluke, Scotland, although originally from Brighton. I juggle writing with being a stay-at-home dad for my one-year-old, so my main writing time consists of about two hours in the afternoon while she gets her nap! I'm writing this during one of those sessions. I've got three older stepkids too so things are hectic. I have managed to complete a novel though, which is with an agent at Faber & Faber (friend of a friend). This has been the case since Feb 10 and still waiting on feedback, although I am aware she is very busy! I'm currently working on short stories and although my wife is my first critic (she has also written a novel so I value her opinion very highly), when I found this website it seemed a great opportunity to get feedback from a wide range of people. Of course I intend to do the same for them. About my writing, I don't like to categorise it, although it often includes crime elements. My main aim is to show how characters' perceptions or feelings have changed after the story's events, to me this should be what the best stories are about.
