Story, Poem and Inspiration point of the week

It is such a pleasure to read all the new submissions that appear on ABCtales each week. Long-standing members still provide a plethora of top-flight writing but it's true that they have to constantly strive to keep up with the steady influx of all the many new talented members that the site has aquired over the last 12 months.

One of the 'newbies' takes this week's story slot.  It's David Martin with his artistically drawn Relic.  It really is quite superb:

The poetry award goes to celticman for dread-nought.  One cannot help but see that picture in the last few words:

This weeks inspiration point:

I'd like you to find a way of using the word displace or displacement in your writing.

Finally, I'll be in Nottingham for tomorrow night's ABCtales reading event at the Cross Keys, the details of which can be found here:

It's going to be wonderful to meet up with old friends and very exciting to be making some new ones too.  If any first-timers are plauged with nerves please try not to stress - cos I guarantee you'll knock 'em dead!  The line-up looks as strong as any I've ever seen and I hope to see lots of you there.

Have a fab weekend whatever you decide to do,

Peter.
