green grown gown
gauzy grass grace
solid soil lid
down wonder on
grains gain rain
sense tense dense
silent silt still
eel slick icky
cling linger congeal
cold hold Old
blind in binds
speach search reach
route riot out
eat rot root
mute mud mother
earth birth breathe
bland round handle
open up nub
slow whole show
hush flesh plush
ample summit sumptuous
silk skin sleek
clammy calm cool
pearl pale peace

You've played around with
You've played around with lots of lovely sounds. I'm not sure of some of the middle parts.
Am I right that it's thinking of the mushroom or toadstool hyphae coming together and growing up to form the fruiing body?
rain again grains - was that meant to be 'rain against grains'? Wasn't sure about eel slick icky cold old hold blind bind in and lap sip lips - is it to do with the hyphae causing rotting underground?
Sorry if that's all wrong, just put me on the right path! I don't easily lateral think in poetry, and it's no reflection on what you've written, truly. Rhiannon

I love your use of words to
I love your use of words to describe what you're thinking Di. I could see the mushroom in slow motion opening up in an unhurried fashion, like in those last eight lines that came across like a film documentary with the narrator relating about the life of mushrooms.

They are mysterious things,

Hello Di, your last comment
Hello Di, your last comment to Rhiannon was exactly right. How wonderful that our eco-system works together, each helping the other. That's what life is all about one hundred per cent.
Yes my hip is fine now and I'm able to get out and about without a problem. Thank you for asking.
Jenny.
