Beyond the border
3 years hence
I was found
where the chalk cliffs
marked the division between now-
floating , diving into the sky….
and then- standing still and as stiff as cardboard,
with dreams behind your eyes
and poems on your lips;
then warm blood at your fingertips.
One day you’ll fold your spirit
and stuff it into your back-pack,
roll forward and reach your goal.
Romeo and Juliet were 15 not 55.
If perfection makes you cry and you feel like going home
follow me to the cusp of Gemini
where we will surface and shine, and hold hands and
before you tell me I will know
this separation is only what lovers do not wish believe.

A wonderful poem of love Pia, capturing feelings
we can all relate to at some point in our lives.
It reminds me of that saying: Better to have loved,
than to have never loved before.
Loved those lines:-
One day you'll fold your soul
and stuff it into your back-pack,
roll forward and reach your goal.
Romeo and Juliet were 15 not 55.
This was a very inspiring piece, thankyou for
sharing.
Jenny.

I think you mean "better to have lost in love than never to have loved at all"- Jenny- don't you?
Thanks for reading

loved it for that warmth and comfort factor, even a bit shakespearian at the end!

Pia...you have written some memorable poetry, but this one has to take the biscuit.
These lines, especially:-
"If perfection makes you cry and you feel like going home
follow me to the cusp of Gemini
where we will surface..."
Don't know if it's just me, but your writing seems to have entered a new phase...maybe I'm wrong, but even if I am, as far as I'm concerned, just keep doing what you're doing;-)

Pia, this is super really, really super. Imagery is the thing for me; in poetry and prose. Great images here, the penultimate stanza - say no more.
