Mistakes aren't always fun IP

If I were to list all my mistakes and especially those I regret doing then I would reveal some very bad sides of my personality.
So I won’t do that. I may be a very confessional person but there is after all a limit to how much I want to expose myself.
So I thought I might rattle off a few mistakes that have been made in my life: (this is dead serious and not funny at all-I have temporarily lost my sense of humour)
1. I wasn’t born a boy- throughout my childhood I wished I was a boy- hence I was very tomboyish- often used to get into fights with other girls and of course boys. On my first day at school, age 5, I got into a fight with the most dominating girl in the class- nails (I bit mine), tugging hair and rolling around in the dirt.
2.I would have chosen my parents myself- some who didn’t neglect me with fatal consequences later on in my life
3. I would have chosen to have my grandparents in the same country as I lived. I never got to know them and enjoy having elderly people around with all it entails.
4.I wouldn’t have let my parents decide so much for me
5. I would like to have been more headstrong and not so vague in my decisions as a teenager
6.I would like to have grown up with punk
7. I wouldn’t have been a daydreamer but have my feet planted more firmly on the ground
8. I would have kept my connection to the work force
9.I would like to have had a tighter grip on life
10. I wouldn’t be so honest about myself. It is a very self-conscious trait and people tend to get bored when someone talks about themselves all the time.

You don't bore me one bit, Pia - I would have been happy to read another 10 at least.

Personally I wouldn't know where to begin or end.....quite a few of mine would match yours.

You see some of the decisions I have taken were not too good but I really didn't want to list them, Coral- I bet you can come up with something. I wish I could have made it a bit funny - it was so serious for me. But I guess my life is pretty serious- at least at the moment! Gees what an idiot I am. sorry just rambing
thanks a lot for reading and coming with a nice comment- means a lot to me

;)Pia

Ps Do you think you can make it to the Wheatsheaf the 21st Sept. ? Would really be nice to see you !

people tend to get bored when someone talks about themselves all the time.'

I do that all the time, but I disguise it as writing. I found this interesting.

Highhat | August 21, 2011 - 10:24

Thanks Celtic but I can't even disguise it- I just go head long into myself- it really bugs me- I think it is because I have such difficulty expressing myself fluently in english now- it is slowy on the decline. I think I am better in danish now. I can read anything but I can't write- I often have difficulty understanding the little finesses in english- the ones that are very local to you all- but I am learning but I'll never master it - not living in your communities. I am a foreigner and always will be.
Thanks for reading and commenting- hehe

Pia you have a second language: English. You are fully bi-lingual. That is a wonderful achievement.

skinner_jennifer | August 21, 2011 - 12:36

Hi Pia,

I feel the same way as coral, I don't think that
you are boring when you write about yourself, wish
I could do the same, but I just don't know where to
start.

When the IP asked us to write ten things that we
would do differently, you were honest and said it
as it was. If you were boring, then the subject
would never have come up, so you keep writing Pia,
get it off your chest and hope it helps to write it
down and I'm sure you're not alone.

Take care,

Jenny.

Thanks Celtic that was sweet of you to say.

I also think it may be an age thing with me Jenn- sorry for moaning.
Thank you very much for your kind comment.

it seems to me that you are being very hard on yourself as most of these were out of your control, as for 10, I am the opposite and see it as a flaw, so there really is no winning!!:} by the way, I think your writing is expressive, articulate and thought provoking.

Highhat | August 22, 2011 - 14:51

expressive, articulate and thought provoking- these are mighty fine words Thanks Shoe- really I do appreciate your comment and thanks for reading.
Since I left the work force I keep hammering myself on top of my head for not hanging on but I have been pretty ill and my life is far from "normal" but nobody seemed to care 20 years ago who I was- Luckily it's different today- at least I look at life differently and luckily I'm the only one now who's hard on me- ;D

You are never, ever boring! I am also one of those `self-confessional' types. It's a trait my other half finds very perplexing since he never gives anthing away. Nicely written.

hudsonmoon | August 22, 2011 - 18:31

I've never found you the least bit boring. Takes something special to write to the bare bone. I have a hard time writing it. Which is why my stuff is just plain silly at times.
I always enjoy stopping by when I see your name, Pia.

OTT thank you very much for a very encouraging comment. I just feel so uninspired these days. Maybe it will just strike me, hopefully soon. It doesn't have to be easy, does it?

Thanks Rich, I suppose I ought to understand it now. Yours and the others comments have just been so kind and encouraging. Thank you ever so much. Was really nice of you to say those things. I'll have to moan a bit less ;D
but I'm really pleased you like what I doodle.
