The spider's web and Michelle- IP

Struggling to escape
The spider’s web
Michelle throws herself to and fro
The sticky threads ensnaring her
She picks off the encumbering strands
Before the spider catches her
to suck out her brain

Knowing her present state of mind
Which reverberates in her whole body as well
Michelle curses the day they presented
Her with the option
Of nightmares under control
Or those running wild
She really had no choice

On waking up
Michelle made a follow-up
with an unbridled imagination

Every ounce of her body and mind
Trying to resist by not
Digging deep into the dream morass

Some things were best left dormant
Preferably never to wake
With the past cries and hurt
As a foreboding apocalypse
Of untamed emotions

Her stretch marks told her
Of sunny skies and coffee dregs
All stitched together
As the flag of surrender
Gave her peace of mind

This revolution
Caused her to recapitulate
the spider’s aim
Finding it basically unphilosophical
And void of morality
Of course not wantingly personified

She took her scarred soul
To the sacred Buddha
And here Michelle
Found attention, independence
And a loving kindred spirit

The overriding opinion
Of quite a few of her peers was one of
Discontent
Unfathomable
To diligent foreign enterprise

She lifted the mist in her hands
Contemplating the blue sky
And cool morning air
Only seeing dewdrops and
crow wasps entangled in
The weave of the spider’s web
She prayed there be no more side effects
And not another spider’s web

You are very kind Fatboy and Tina- I really needed to hear your fantastic words after having an argument with my son and feeling a bit low. Thank you both very very much.

I suspect this might be genuinely excellent, Pia. Too many good lines to denigrate the whole by picking a few of them. It's wry, complex, elegant and needs to be read properly by me when I can give it the time it deserves. Thank you!

Hello Pia,

I think this has to be one of my all time favourites
of yours, the descriptions are amazing, like:-

the sticky threads ensnaring her
She picks off the encumbering strands
Before the spider catches her
to suck out her brain

and also:-

Her stretch marks told her
Of sunny skies and coffee dredges
All stitched together
As the flag of surrender
Gave her peace of mind

How did you manage to come up, with such amazing
words.

Great work.

Jenny.
