You never know what happens yesterday IP

I’m pretty sure of what happened tomorrow
but what is going to happen yesterday is a bit of a conundrum
Tomorrow I was always a lioness and I stole everything with both arms and legs
What ever I could get a-hold of
Yesterday the giving is going to be splendiferous
So I am contemplating donating
A meal and a cure to the fair-trade flower gardeners
In Kenya-
They got it hard with pesticides
But the capitalists just won’t acknowledge the ailments
Neither tomorrow nor yesterday
So….
Tomorrow I was buying no flowers
And yesterday I will be ashamed
To say that I think they are too damn colourful
To be true
The truth lies in all the tomorrows of yesterday
And that brings us right up to date
And NOW I am going to burn a candle
For all the tomorrows and yesterdays I never manage to
See or hear or feel

I was completely stumped by the IP this week, and so I genuinely marvel at your poem, Pia.

An impassioned write that I feel will grown even more on me the more I read it, to become one of my many favourites of yours.

And now I am going to comment, if you'll pardon me stealing your words. I really liked the poem and I read it more than once but I have a feeling I will be back to read it again. I'm not really familiar with your work but I would like to read more as your use of 'conundrum' struck a chord with me.

Hi Pia,

this had a kind of Alice in Wonderland feel to it,
hope you don't mind me saying that, it's just like a conundrum.

I like the idea of all the tomorrows of yesterday,
bringing you back to the present. Very clever, I
would never have thought of writing something like
this and I thought it was very good for the IP.

By the way, I haven't been able to get into my
e-mail since last Tuesday, so sorry if I haven't
been in touch.
